The first Homeless for the Homeless event was held in Novemeber 2007 as a way to increase awareness about homelessness in Columbia.  The event has been held annually in the years since 2007 for the continual purpose of education regarding the issue of homelessness.  The event consists of:
  •  A "sleep out" in order to acknowledge those who spend their nights without shelter or warmth and
  • Opportunities to better understand the homeless situation in Columbia.

The overall goal of Homeless for the Homeless is that we would love and serve the members of our community, and the City of Columbia, in a way that demonstrates God's care and concern for those who are marginalized and in need.  Homeless for the Homeless has also been a strategic part of raising money for transitional homes for both men and women, and faciliating relationships between homeless and non-homeless members of the community.

Join us on February 17 and 18, 2012 to learn about homelessness in Columbia, advocate for restoration, and discover how and why the Gospel motivates us to care for the vulnerable.
